This year’s award was presented to Mr. Rameau and Ms. Bowden by Spelman President Dr. Mary Schmidt-Campbell. In her award presentation Dr. Campbell stated that she was ” all in for the Atlanta Music Project.” She jokingly suggested that Mr. Rameau and Ms. Bowden start a program for adults so she could sign herself up for music lessons. Upon receiving their award the honorees made remarks to the 400 freshman and sophomore Spelman College students who attended the award convocation as part of their community service classes.
