Our very own co-founder and executive director, Dantes Rameau, has been named to Ebony Magazine’s 2013 Power 100, a list of year’s most influential African-Amercians!

Joining  prestigious names on the list such as President Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, chef Marcus Samuelsson and actress Kerry Washington, Dantes attended the Ebony Power 100 Gala at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City on November 4. At the gala Motown’s Berry Gordy received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

About the list of honorees, Ebony Magazine’s Editor-In-Chief, Amy DuBois Barnett said “The EBONY Power 100 speaks volumes about the diversity of our accomplishments and the power of our collective influence across virtually every spectrum of society. We are thrilled to honor these exceptionally talented people who have inspired and enthralled us, and who have helped to shape our lives.”

Dantes was honored in the “Community Crusaders” category, a group of “ordinary people doing extraordinary things.” Another Power 100 nominee from Atlanta was Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice, President-Elect of the Morehouse School of Medicine. The entire list of nominees can be found in the December 2013/January 2014 issue of Ebony Magazine, as well as here on the Ebony Magazine website,

Dantes’ Ebony Power 100 award received several mentions in the press and on the websites of Dantes’ alma maters. Check them out here:
