Atlanta’s own Manga African Dance, Inc. is leading AMP students in a workshop of African Drum and Dance, which will culminate in a performance. The idea behind this workshop is to give our students their first experience at moving to music and performing music in a group setting. The rhythm of the drums and dance ritual will help them develop an internal pulse, which is essential to great orchestral playing. The dance aspect will help our students become more comfortable moving to music, which is also essential for musicality and engaging orchestral performances. Through this workshop the students will also learn about African culture and customs.
Manga African Dance, Inc. to lead AMP students in African Drum and Dance workshop!
