Monica Pearson Donates Piano to AMP

What an honor we had today. It is my pleasure to announce that Monica Pearson of Atlanta’s WSB-TV has donated her piano to the Atlanta Music Project! A legendary news anchor at WSB-TV’s Channel Two Action News for over 30 years, Ms. Pearson has supported many charities and organizations in the area. She was won a host of awards, including an Emmy for an exclusive interview of Congressman John Lewis, who our own Atlanta Music Project students performed for earlier this month. Check out Monica Perason’s amazing biography here.

Ms. Pearson recently announced her retirement, so on behalf of the Atlanta Music Project, I’d like to congratulate her for this wonderful milestone!

All smiles: myself, Monica Pearson, Cooper Piano movers

Thank you to the City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs and Cooper Piano for facilitating this move. We look forward to putting Ms. Pearson’s piano to good use during the 2012-2013 school-year.

And a special thank you to Monica Pearson for supporting the Atlanta Music Project’s mission of inspiring social change through music.
