AMP students pose in front of the Woodruff Arts Center

Last night our students closed out the first school-year of the Atlanta Music Project with an amazing performance at the Woodruff Arts Center. The variety show of dance, theatre, visual arts and music was the Closing Performance of all of the City Of Atlanta’s after-school arts programs, known as the Culture Club.

AMP students performed two orchestra selections, Old MacFiddle (aka Old McDonald) and Song Of Brotherhood (aka Ode To Joy) and performed Route 66 as a choir. Special thanks to Camille Love, the Director of Cultural Affairs for the City Of Atlanta, who organized this wonderful event.

Below is a video of the Route 66 performance. On drums is special guest Teddy Hall Jr (Adjunct Instructor of Percussion at Alabama A&M), on double bass is AMP’s own Dr. Jackie Pickett and directing is AMP’s own Aisha Bowden.

I’m looking forward to our summer session which will begin on May 31 and until July 22. Stay tuned for performance dates!
