Adewunmi is a creative professional with a passion for bridging the arts to local communities. She has ten years experience working (and volunteering) in theatre, education, and non-profit settings. She received her Bachelors of Theatre from the University of Southern Mississippi, and her Masters of Fine Arts in Dramaturgy at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Though her background is in theatre, Adewunmi is a lover of music in all its forms. She has an eclectic taste in music, including Classical, Jazz, Musical Theatre, World, Hip Hop, Gospel, Country, Pop, R&B, and Blues—to name a few. She credits her father for introducing her to Afro-beats and classical music, and her mother for sharing her love of singing church songs. Adewunmi believes that everyone has a song in their heart, and musicality in their bones.
Adewunmi also has a passion for working with and in service to young people. She truly values learning, and facilitating spaces for growth. She enjoys taking whatever insight and tools she has, so she can “pay it forward” to those following her footsteps.
