Durand is a graduate of Hampton University, where he played percussion and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Media with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism. He later earned a degree in Audio Engineering from Full Sail University in Orlando, Fl., and received certification in Social Media and Web Analytics from Emory University. Durand became fascinated with the role digital media plays in the arts and how it impacts urban communities.
Prior to leading digital media strategies and operations, Durand produced and engineered records for major label recording artists. Over the last 10 years, Durand has worked in digital media with companies CareerBuilder and Venadar. Most recently Durand has been very active in the local Atlanta community, specifically his residential district 12, where he is the Communications Chair for NPUV, Chairperson of the NPUV Community Forum Planning Committee, and President of the Storage Depot Lofts HOA. He was a judge for the 2018 NAB Crystal Radio Awards and is committed to spot-lighting the arts and intelligent urban community news.
Durand is passionate about serving others and is thrilled to play a role in the transformative work that the Atlanta Music Project is doing.
